One cold night me and my best friend Paige sat warmly cuddled up around the hot burning fire protected by the cold as the flame flickered and then went out we were discussing what movie we should watch for our favourite time of our sleepover movie night, when my older brother Joe tipped a bucket of water over the fire “What was that for, we were enjoying that warm fire.” Mandy said to Joe “Mum says ‘that you two girls have been out here for too long and that is time to come inside, and get ready for a great movie night and then bed.”
I watched an article today called Sniffer Dogs I learnt lots of different facts but I’m just going share 3 today. Well, do you know what Sniffer Dogs are Sniffer dogs have been using their noses in airports for a long time now, but that’s not all they are good at surprisingly they can even sniff out an animal, Kuna and Sparky are two dogs that are on a mission to find an critically endanger animal called the Elusive Northern Qual that scientists don’t know much about at all, so theses two dogs are going to try and help out these scientist. There are many breads of dogs in the sniffer dog society and Kuna and sparky are just two of the many dogs there, you would usually see these dogs in airports but know they will help find animals there scene of smell means they will be able to sniff out this animal. This isn’t the first time sniffer dogs have been used to find animals, they were used to find rabbits and rats on Macquarie Island and eventually the Island was left alone because they had cleared the Island.
How did they find out that noses are around 100% the best way to find different things?
How long would it take to train dogs like Kuna and Sparky?
I wonder how long it can take for the dogs to find the Elusive Northern Qual.
Here were my goals for this semester:
I’d like to gain more confidence in public speaking. How I can practice doing this is to ask Jude if I could talk in front of the class more. One of my other goals is to learn my multiplication tables off by heart. How I can do this is to get Mum or Dad to give me some tables and then I answer them after one to five seconds. My final goal I have is to learn how to do short multiplication and division. How I can do this is Mum and Dad can give me some multiplication problems for me to work out.
Here’s my reflection on how I went achieving them:
This semester I feel I have achieved almost all of my goals. I also feel I have achieved my first goal the most it is to gain more confidence, after I did my class masters speech, it helped me to gain more confidence. I also feel that I have learnt probably seventy five percent of all of my multiplication tables because Mum would test me quite often after school and at dinner. Lastly I feel I haven’t completed my last goal because I haven’t been thought it, I think short division is too hard.
Here are some goals I have for the future:
For semester 2 my goals are to learn all of my times tables off by heart, to help me in maths in school. How I am going to do this is by asking my Mum and Dad to help me with them. Another thing I need to practise is organising when to do what homework when I have the right time. How I could do this is I could reward myself with something like more screen time if I finish all my homework by Thursday, then I would be able to get the reward. My last goal is to learn long multiplication.
I got this hat when my Mum went to the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, and this is how the story goes.
“Everyone here all seven of us?” Mum asked everyone
“Yes” everyone coursed back
“Good. So raise your hand if you want to buy a souvenir here.”Mum replied to all seven people staring at her “Hats, Jumpers, T-shirts, mugs, pens what do you all what?”
“Hat” everyone coursed back
So Mum went into the souvenir shop to buy everyone a hat. She came out of the shop with a big box filled with hats.

I watched an article today called Autism I learnt lots of different facts but I’m just going share 3 today. Autism spectrum Disorder is a very common disease that can’t be cured around one in one hundred people get it. One girl named Kiki has this disease and she said ‘that it took her around one year to just make one friend.” Kiki’s Mum created a foundation for girls with Autism spectrum Disorder, it’s called yellow lady bugs, and now Kiki is saying “it will take her 10seconds to just make one friend when she is there. The ambassador Chloe says that “everyone has there on little quirks and things like that and our quirks happen to have a label on it saying that we have Autism spectrum Disorder. Chloe was diagnosed with Autism spectrum Disorder when she was thirteen years of age.
What causes Autism spectrum Disorder?
How sires is Autism spectrum Disorder?
I wonder why Autism spectrum Disorder is called Autism spectrum Disorder and not something else.
One hot, sunny day I (Charlotte) caught the bus to school with my best friend Hannah. When I got to school with Hannah the class was assigned 3 assessment task, while Mrs. Stanley (our teacher) got all our homework ready for the week, one of our pieces of homework we were given was a writing task it was a 100WC (One hundred Word Challenge) and the prompt was 5 words: Silence, Orange, Thunder, Pajamas and Swam. I wrote a 100WC with my best friend Hannah about a girl who went swimming as she swam in her Orange bathers that looked like pajamas as thunder banged and then Silence.
I watched an article today called Bravery Reward I learnt lots of different facts but I’m just going share 3 today. In New South Wales a nine year old boy named Noah was given a bravery reward, he helped ambulance workers to figure out what was going on with his Mum when she was having a stroke. Noah was able to help two people the Paramedics and his Mums life. Later that month he was given the New South Wales ambulance star reward, at a special ceremony at his school.
What caused Noah’s Mum to have the stroke in the first place?
How did Noah stay so calm?
I wonder what side Noah’s Mum had her stroke on.
One day my friend and I were walking in the park on our way back from school when I noticed a high staircase. I nudged Maya and pointed it out to her. I pulled her over to the staircase and then all the way up it. When we reached the top I said to her “Wow look at it isn’t the view just to die for. I mean the sand between my toes it’s so warm, I wish our school could be up here. Don’t you?
“Of course” Maya replied
So we sat down on the warm sand and pulled out our books and started our homework.
I watched an article today called Antibiotics I learnt lots of different facts but I’m just going to share 3 today. The find of Penicillin is one of the important medical finds in history because it has saved millions and millions of lives since discovered. In 1928 a bacteria scientist named Alexander Fleming discovered by accident left some dirty Petri dishes laying around when he went away on holiday, when he came back he noticed mould had formed around the it, but around it there was no bacteria, the mould had killed the bacteria, Fleming wrote a paper about this special mould, but that’s where he stopped, he gave up. These days there are many different types of penicillin over 22 million prescriptions are filled in over one year in Australia.
Do you know how to make Antibiotics?
Do you know exactly how many lives Antibiotics have saved?
I wonder how people cured things in the olden days without antibiotics.
